Tour Description

Fukuoka is the largest city in the Kyushu region, located in the southwestern part of Japan. Close to the Korean Peninsula, it has prospered through trade with Korea and China since ancient times, and is a very popular city for travelers, where tradition and modernism coexist. The city has a rich history; historic temples and shrines; a diverse food culture that includes such popular dishes as tonkotsu ramen; festivals, such as Yamakasa; traditional crafts, such as Hakata dolls; and many other attractions. One of the charms of Fukuoka is the friendly local people.

The Fukuoka Live Online Bike Tour is a live streaming tour of Fukuoka, as you cycle through the city. The tour lasts one hour. Even if you can’t make it to Fukuoka, Japan, you can enjoy a bike tour of the city and its highlights from the comfort of your own home. You can learn about the culture and history of Japan and Fukuoka from a local tour guide who has a national license as an English guide interpreter. You can direct questions to the tour guide through the chat function, so you can enjoy not only watching the tour, but also interacting with the guide. On the Day of the Tour
At least 5 minutes before the tour begins, please access the ZOOM URL and ID that we will have provided in advance.

Minimum Number of Participants:
4  (4 families or 4 connections)
If the number of participants is less than 4, the tour will be cancelled.

Notes
In the event the tour is cancelled due to bad weather or other unavoidable circumstances, a full refund will be processed. If the tour route is changed due to tour conditions, a refund will not be applicable.

What You Can See On the Route

Kushida Shrine
You can get off your bike, and walk around the grounds of Kushida Shrine. This shrine is the guardian of Hakata, the ancient city that became part of Fukuoka, and is very much loved by the local people. An explanation of the differences between Shintoism and Buddhism will be provided.

Tenjin
We will guide you through the streets of Tenjin, a popular shopping area in Fukuoka.

Fukuoka Castle Ruins
Fukuoka Castle, built in 1607, is one of the 100 most famous castles in Japan. Although there is no existing castle tower, you can see the turrets and stone walls. The guide will share the history and show you the features of Fukuoka Castle. You can get off your bike, and walk around the castle site.

Ohori Park
Ohori Park has a beautiful pond that measures almost two kilometers in circumference, and is the most popular park in Fukuoka. It is also known as a place of relaxation for the citizens.

Jigyo Beach
You can see the beautiful coastline of Fukuoka, and enjoy the view of Nokonoshima Island in Hakata Bay.
